REVIEW | MAC VIVA GLAM MILEY

The wait is over, MAC Viva Glam Miley has now found its way into my MAC lipstick collection. The newest edition to the VIVA GLAM collection is the good girl, turned bad Miley Cyrus. Miley states that she was glad to hop on board on the Viva train since she, herself promotes individuality and helping others break out from their shell. When MAC announced their newest VIVA GLAM campaign, I knew I had to jump on board and grab a Limited Edition. For a limited edition, I was surprised that the price stayed the same. I did not hesitate to pay the average price of a normal MAC lipstick since it is for a great cause - every penny will be donated to the MAC AIDS FUND.

As you can see, both packaging has (like all the other VIVA GLAM Celebrity Collaborations) the infamous metallic red signature. Unlike Viva Glam Rihanna's bullet, Miley has it's bog-standard black case with a red strip.

The former Hannah Montana star has collaborated with MAC to launch an amazing Barbie, bubblegum blue-toned pink. The hot-pink shade is suitable for all skin tones since it has hints of cool-blue undertones that will make your teeth appear brighter and whiter. Since the lipstick is an amplified finish, not only will the lipstick be highly pigmented, but will keep your lips nourished throughout the day. The lipstick by itself is definitely a head-turner in the summer months. The colour is quite bold and vibrant, in my opinion, I feel the lipstick is still wearable throughout the day as well as on night-outs. To each their own depending how daring you are.

Now comes the lipglass. This amazing gloss, chock-full of sparkly flecks of silver and blue glitter which entails compliments the cool-toned lipstick. The lipglass isn't one to apply on its own - alone, it is a sheer, barely there pink gloss. The staying-powever however, is incredible. The sticky finish allows the lipglass to cling on longer leaving your lips kissable for up to 8 hours.

In conclusion, I am over-the-moon with my purchase of this seasons VIVA GLAM launch. The products worn separately are both as gorgeous as each other, on the other hand, when both are worn at the same time, it is #LipGameStrong. The lipglass definitely gives the lipstick extra-dimension, extra-fullness and that little bit of extra oomph which results to a super lustrous and glass-like texture. The combination of an amplified hot pink merged with a cool-toned glitter gloss is unbelievably girly, flirty and damn right gorgeous! An unmistakable  staple for Spring/Summer 2015.

Mac Viva Glam Miley will be launching for their SS15 collection in the UK*

REVIEW | MAC REBEL

It's that time of year again. Yes. My favourite season - Winter! I actually couldn't wait to wrap up in thick scarves, over-sized jumpers and big black boots... just me then? I know I' a bit late with posting up a review on this particular shade since there are already a tonne of reviews and swatches on MAC Rebel, but i just couldn't help it! An all-time favorite of mine is MAC's REBEL Lipstick. Isn't it just the perfect autumnal/winter color? Just wait till you put it on! I have been through three tubes of this beautiful berry shade, I hate to admit it, but I do actually believe I have obsession with this color. Since the colder season is still upon us, this would be perfect for Valentines Day: Date night? Something casual and laid back with Bae? A night out to the cinema with your girls? MAC Rebel's your guy!

It is a satin finish with a semi-matte formula. It glides very well and is very moisturizing leaving your lips well-hydrated. It has a nice creamy consistency which has a slight sheen giving your lips a juicy, plump with buildable coverage that isn't drying to the lips at all. As a mother-on-the-go, the last thing on my mind is heading to the toilets in Westfields just to top up on a lipstick - ain't nobody got time for that. It does tend to bleed on the corners of my mouth, so wearing a lip liner or applying the product with a lip brush is advisable. The longevity, for me, is up to 4-5 hours. If a bold lip isn't your cuppa tea, just wipe off the lipstick and ta-da! An instant berry lip stain. I've been using the word "berry" a lot in this post haven't I...

Rebel is part of the permanent line at MAC, described as a mid tonal cream plum - quite a popular shade around the beauty world, If you're only starting out with bolder, darker lip shades, I'd say try this one since the shade isn't too bold compared to other vampy shades. A great shade for all complexions, the shade can look different depending on your skin tone - on lighter complexions, the shade comes out more grape/berry and can look more on the berry-red side for deeper skin tones. Although it is a deep shade, it isn't Gothic at all! In fact, it is the perfect shade to transition from Summer to Autumn/Winter.

I find that my MAC "Satin" and "Amplified" finish products melt more easily than the rest.
NOTE TO SELF: Make sure you don't leave your lipsticks on the windowsill.

A Tiny MAC Haul

A  T E E N Y   W E E N Y   M A C   H A U L

I was gobsmacked to find out that a parcel came for me today. I hadn't purchased anything lately. Nevertheless, I was so excited to find out what it was. It came in a thick, black envelope. I then looked at the sender. MAC. I turned a bit hulk on it and ripped the sleeve like it was a piece of chicken wing. A note that said:

To Butch (my very embarrassing nickname from the bf)
Happy Birthday
From 'The King.' (trust him to name himself something corny)

I literally screamed! These were the two shades I had been eyeing up at the MAC store for ages! Flat Out Fabulous is a retro matte finish whilst VIVA GLAM Rihanna has a slight frost finish. I cannot wait to try these babies out. I literally just got this an hour ago! I hardly post in the middle of the day but I COULD NOT WAIT! It also came with (what appears to be) a mascara sample? I guess there was a PROMO going on...

Thanks BAE!

Watch out for a thorough review on each lipstick!

Review ♥ Swatches | MAC Lady Danger

T h a t   G i r l   i s   s o ' D a n g e r o u s '
Another MAC lipstick for you today! It's that time of the year where celebration and festivities are back to back. My latest red lipstick from MAC is the oh so popular Lady Danger. It's a shade that is very unique in my collection. I am definitely happy with my purchase. I have been eyeing this particular one for years (since, you know, it's pretty much in most beauty "gurus" MAC collection) I am such a sucker for these sugary scented lipsticks - collection slowly growing. I can never have enough MAC lipsticks in my stash... addiction maybe? I think so.

My previous post was also a MAC matte finish. However, The consistency, application and overall finish is not in the slightest bit any similar! MAC Lady Danger is much more creamier and glides onto your lips like silk. Although it is a matte finish, the longevity is shorter than MAC Ruby Woo (retro-mate finish), which doesn't phase me since MAC Lady Danger is much more nourishing. It is surprisingly moisturizing on the lips. YES. A moisturizing matte lipstick from MAC. Insert geeky emoji for that alliteration right thereThe lipstick can stand up to 5 hours. Some lips may vary. The only flaw (a very small flaw) is that the lipstick tends to feather out. however, a good ol' lip liner does the job.

Described as a vivid bright, coral-red, on my skin, (NC42) the lipstick actually looks more of an orange-red which is amazing for the summer time when paired with a tan. YASS! This warm-toned shade can suit anyone and everyone. This shade will look different depending on your skintone - a more red tone on lighter complexions and more orange on deeper complexions.
It is such a unique colour and I am so happy I picked this up. Personally, I would wear this shade in the the summer since the fiery-orange-red shade has a warmer undertone - to each their own. Nevertheless, it is one I highly recommend if you're looking for a different, less starlet, yet festive red lipstick for the winter.

Review ♥ Swatches | MAC Ruby Woo

T h e  ' F e s t i v e '   W o o

Here's another post to add to my undying love for MAC lipsticks. The first red lipstick I have ever bought at MAC. I don't know why it took me years to get this colour... Nonetheless, I am quite happy with my purchase since it is a strikingly vibrant (but wearable) head-turning, jaw-dropping, lip-smacking red.

NOTE: You may have seen me post a review on this lipstick (and a few more other ones) in the past. The reason why I had to re-post is because all my images were erased from my blong, and therefore had to start again. Hope you guys don't mind reading as much as I love sharing :)

Winter is upon  us, bring on the festivities! Let the flood of red lip lovers commence.  I tend to go for a more vintage look - oversized cocoon jackets, faux fur, and a dramatic winged cat-eye. I also feel matte lipsticks look better in the colder months; keeping it sophisticatedly composed with a minimalistic look in the winter (each to their own) whilst having a dewy, glowy, glossy lip in the summer.
Ruby Woo is my first ever retro-matte finish. The consistency is indeed more drying than the other finishes, however, with a bit of carmex beforehand,  there's no room for complaint. Ruby Woo glides on dry, sticky ( frictiony?) but will not. I repeat. Will not feather, bleed or wear off. You can also pop a clear gloss or a red gloss on top if the matte-finish isn't for you.

Described as a vivid red bluish red, this Marilyn Monroe lipstick is one of the most iconic and most-raved reds in MAC history, non other than Rihanna's favourite smacker. It is definitely a bold colour from the start (buildable coverage) and is definitely a festive seasons' must-have -perfect for Christmas and New Years' Parties. FYI. I did wear this on Christmas Day this year!
When I wear this, I find myself pretending to be a 50's starlet, cat-walking the high streets of London, or, as Sandra Bullock in Miss Congeniality would say, "We're gliding here!"
Ruby Woo is a vintage classic. It is also a shade that can be worn for all skintone s. Highly Recommend. I mean. Look at all the beauty bloggers/vloggers raving about this colour! If that wasn't enough, the blue undertones in this lipstick also brightens and whitens your teeth. Who wouldn't want that?
